Girl Guides Training on 9 Sep

Reporting venue: parade square
Reporting time: 8:00am to 4:00pm
Bring:
1. stationery (markers for teachers' day card)
2. $$ for lunch
3. waterbottle
4. For all sec3:
Needlewomen Badge:
- bring cloth, needle, scissors, thread etc
- submit 2 garments
- deadline: after EOY exams

Attendance is compulsory. Only MCs will be accepted for absentees.

The competition will be on 23 July 2005. Please be prepared to stay back after Girl Guides Trainings for extra lessons by ME!!

Dental Health Badge ( For all sec2s and sec3s: including those who have not taken the lesson)
*Do a dental health project eg. scrapbook, essay, poster, class talk at school, Company, Pack etc.
Contents:
1. the structure and function of teeth
2. the various oral hygiene aids and their correct use
3. the importance of good nutrition for good dental health
4. name 6 foods which contain free sugars and how they affect dental health
5. demonstrate how a younger child can be taught to practise good oral hygiene
Deadline: 19 July 2005
Groupings: do this projects individually or at most in pairs.

Heritage Badge for all Sec3s (compulsary)

PROJECTS (choose 1 out of 11)
1. Designing a Heritage Trail
2. Guiding in NHB Museums
3. Undertaking a Simple Research Project
4. Designing an Information Booklet on Monuments in Singapore
5. Tracing your family or someone's genealogy, i.e., family tree
6. Creating a multi-media programme or CD-ROM, or web-based project on Heritage topics
7. Designing a Museum Guide for Schools
8. Guiding in Heritage Galleries in schools/community
9. Put up Heritage/ National Education (NE)-related exhibitions for schools/ community
10. Volunteering at NHB events/ exhibitions and other projects relate to Heritage in consultation with NHB
11. Promotion of National Symbols, e.g. exhibition, information booklets, board game, card game
